The first year Cadillac put its convertible in the DeVille line — and the first year of the 429 V8, with all the power equipment working as it should.

1964 was a landmark year for Cadillac. The convertible moved up from the Series 62 into the de Ville range, the new 429 cubic-inch V8 replaced the long-serving 390, and the de Ville models received the new three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic while lesser Cadillacs carried on with the older four-speed unit. Roughly 17,900 DeVille convertibles were built that year.

This one is finished in light blue with a white power convertible top over a cream interior, and shows 34,193 indicated miles. The 429 produces 340 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque — effortless rather than urgent, which is precisely the point of a Cadillac.
